Major US Bank Replaces Base24 with OmniPayments

One of the five largest banks in the United States recently moved its debit/credit card authorization network from ACI’s Base24 to Opsol’s OmniPayments financial-transaction authorization system running on HP NonStop servers.

The project involved supporting 10 Switch Interfaces, 15,000 ATMs, and 40,000 POS devices. The project was completed within 9 months and resulted in savings of several million dollars for the bank.

This move accomplished two goals. It allowed the Bank to keep its highly available NonStop servers in operation following ACI’s announcement that it would cease support of Base24 on NonStop. In addition, it allowed the Bank to save millions of dollars in licensing costs over the system’s life.
